NLC Class of 2011 Graduates – Principia Scholarship Recipients
The National Leadership Council (NLC) is a multi-year servant leadership program, dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, leadership qualities, and a service approach to life. DiscoveryBound is grateful to all those who help make this innovative program a reality. Many of the mentors who support the student participants, are A/U and DiscoveryBound alumni.

For the past four years, Principia College has generously awarded students who complete DiscoveryBound’s National Leadership Council (NLC) Program in good standing a $20,000 scholarship.
We are proud to share that the following 2011 NLC class graduates are attending Principia and have earned this scholarship. Congratulations!
Please join us in recognizing the selfless service and outstanding contributions all NLC participants are making to the Christian Science community and the global society.
What does it mean to be a part of NLC?
The National Leadership Council provides opportunities for young people to discover and explore their interests, values, and talents in a spiritual atmosphere. Teens experience programs that help them deepen their relationship with God, activities that stress the healing effectiveness of Christian Science, leadership training built on a Biblical model of service to God and mankind, and leadership opportunities at the local, national, and international levels.
NLC is accepting applications from current 8th graders for the Class of 2016. If you know of any students who may be interested, please invite them to find out more about the NLC program and the application process. The application deadline is Oct. 10, 2011.

Did you know…
One of NLC’s core curriculum requirements is a two-week service trip during the student’s Junior year in high school. For the past two years, NLC classes have traveled to Peru to help citizens in rural areas become self-sustaining. We encourage you to read their blogs and view the videos documenting how these young Christian Scientists are loving and giving beyond boarders. Combined, these classes donated thousands of hours of community service.
