How many times have we been in a situation where we seem to be at a crossroads and are unsure of what direction to take? Or perhaps at one point we felt we had all the right answers and the perfect plan, only to find that nothing seemed to go our way or according to that plan.
I wanted to give the budding students of Christian Science something they could easily remember and apply before they began their three-day trips. It came in the form of this instruction Jesus gave his followers: “… let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay…”
One of the first healings I experienced as a child occurred on arrival at my first camp session at the A/U Ranches. My friend and I had planned to be at camp together. The week leading up to our arrival, we were skateboarding in our branch church parking lot, where we grew up. I hit some gravel and took a tumble, breaking my arm in the process.
Sometimes it takes courage to step up and speak Truth in the face of fear or contagion. But if DiscoveryBound National Leadership Council holds to one of its main principles, “encourage the heart,” then encouraging each other as leaders and healers is the very thing we’re here to do.
I was headed up to camp from our home in town for the first day of staff training — probably my favorite day of the year. But as I came through the front gate, I was still struggling with my first assignment for the day — to speak in an inspiring way about that year’s metaphysical theme.
Unity isn’t something we force or need to be afraid of losing. Unity is the essential nature of the relation between God and Her beloved children, you and me. Adventure Unlimited opens many windows in our lives to see the light of God… and in seeing that light, we’ll realize that we are a crucial part of that light.
