NAB: Reconnecting with alumni in the coming year
It was a fruitful few days for the board, where major themes of discussion included how to connect with as many alumni as possible in the coming year and develop or support existing programs that encourage regular connections to Adventure Unlimited, through either the A/U Ranches or DiscoveryBound.
Feeling Nostalgic? Let these Opportunities Nurture You
Alumni: Are you missing your A/U Ranches and DiscoveryBound (DB) friends? Are you cherishing memories from last year, 10 years, 20 years ago? Whether you have a little time or more, there are ways to reconnect with the experiences and people you love – and make new ones. Here are some ideas.
Alumnus Gives Back with Commemorative Chairs
Forty chairs, made of a combination of cedar and a hardwood, will be available for a tax-deductible donation of $400 each. They’ll include the A/U Ranches logo on the back and a custom message engraved across the seat front. These durable chairs will also replace the plastic versions that blow away in strong winds.
DiscoveryBound Alumna Embraces New Role as DB Ambassador
When you know about something wonderful, it’s natural to want to share it with others. That’s the approach that DiscoveryBound (DB) Ambassadors are taking: They’re spreading the word about DB Outreach, National Leadership Council and Compass programs in their local Christian Science communities.
What’s Happening with Horsemanship?
Many campers in the A/U Ranches Horsemanship program will tell you – and their parents will confirm this – that their skills on horseback developed significantly through their participation. In fact, this program has been taking riders to the next level of skill and accomplishment for decades.
$14.6 Million Raised in Bridges to the Future Campaign
In recent weeks, Adventure Unlimited’s Bridges to the Future Campaign has taken some significant steps forward. Thanks to many generous donors, the total raised is now more than $14.6 million toward the original $16.5 million goal.
Thank Heaven for Horses and Mini Camp
My first time on a horse was at a state fair when I was around two or three years old. The horse’s name was Mister Ed, and I insisted on riding him all by myself without my mom holding me. I was immediately hooked!
Family Camp: Reconnecting with Each Other – and with God
I remember seeing the A/U Ranches for the first time as a 12-year-old attending Family Camp. I was so impressed with its beauty and the warmth of the counselors. My siblings were college age, but both they and the counselors went out of their way to make me feel like one of the gang – a heady experience for a 7th-grader!
Career Help for Alumni this Summer
Free advice: We’ve all heard the line about what that’s worth. But in the case of the Albert Baker Fund’s Career Alliance, their no-charge career services can provide just the valuable guidance and connections a job-seeker needs.
NAB Committee Spotlight: Events and Reunions, Just for You
Fellowship is a key piece at the heart of activities for Adventure Unlimited. Two committees operating within the National Alumni Board (NAB) are making sure fellowship endures continuously among A/U Ranches and DiscoveryBound alumni and those who are new to experiencing what Adventure Unlimited has to offer.
