Summer Forestry Internship Benefits Entire A/U Ranches Community

This summer, I did an internship as the forestry program head with the A/U Ranches. One of the requirements of my degree, a Master of Environmental Management from Western Colorado University, requires that graduate students actually “get something done” and assist with a project that benefits an organization working towards improving environmental health. Over the summer, this is exactly what I got to do at the A/U Ranches!

Shifting from Getting to Giving

Four summers ago, I was a CIT (counselor-in-training) at the A/U Ranches. After attending Youth Camp since I was seven years old, I was pretty excited to continue going to camp, in a new role. I started off strong, ready to tackle this new job and have fun at my favorite place on earth. But throughout the summer, challenges arose that I wasn’t ready for.

Campaign Reaches 98% of $16.5 Million Goal

Investments in the future of Adventure Unlimited through its Bridges to the Future Campaign have now reached 98% of the $16.5 million goal. In particular, progress has been made in two areas at the A/U Ranches and in DiscoveryBound.
