Why Your Estate Plans Matter

Annual gifts to Adventure Unlimited’s operations provide the transformative programming our participants receive each year. Similarly, planned gifts can ensure that those same programs continue in the future.  

Securing the future. Just as annual charitable gifts should be part of your budget, planned gifts should be part of your estate plans. A properly designed estate plan provides for the orderly and efficient transfer of your assets to family and loved ones. It can also fund a personal philanthropic legacy that continues your impact for favorite charitable organizations.

For example, if you are giving $1,000 annually to Adventure Unlimited, a bequest of $25,000 in your will or trust will generate $1,000 annually in perpetuity. Connecting your annual gifts with a planned gift creates a permanent legacy to your meaningful involvement with Adventure Unlimited and unbroken impact of spiritual growth and memories for A/U Ranches and DiscoveryBound participants.

Here are two simple ways many donors choose to include Adventure Unlimited in their gift planning: 

1. A statement in your will: “I give, devise and bequeath [$__ or __%] of the rest and residue of my estate to Adventure Unlimited, 5201 S. Quebec Street, Greenwood Village, Colorado, to be placed in [choose option: General Endowment or the Annual Fund].”
2. Designate Adventure Unlimited as a beneficiary of your retirement assets (IRA, 401(k), 403(b)), life insurance policy, or donor advised fund.
